Hastelloy alloy is a nickel based alloy.
It comes in primarily two groups; one with more molybdenum and the other with more chromium. Both are called the Hastelloy.
They are all exceptionally resistant to strong oxidizing solutions and have high durability in reducing agents. They are also resistant to intergranular corrosion because of the low carbon content and the less carbide precipitation with welding.
